God chose to use a written book (the Bible) and make it a living book by giving us Christ. Written words were how he chose to get his message out, and Christ was the living message that He sent with the Holy Spirit to teach, direct, and empower. There are many Christian books in our society today, and I want my blog to be used to find the truths of God's word in those books by people who have read them, enjoyed them, and been changed by them. The best Christian books, fiction or non- fiction, are the ones that point people to the living Word Jesus Christ and leads them to be more conformed to His image.
I finished the book, the Will of Wisteria, this week by Denise Hildreth. This book starts to work on your heart from the first chapter and continues to do so even after you have read the last line. It's about family, love, and never getting back those times missed out on. The key characters are four siblings that are challenged by their dead father to live a different kind of life for a year if they want to receive their wealthy inheritance. That year they learn about the spiritual bankruptcy in their life. The siblings are faced with a choice, which we all have to make,to either let God fix them or stay spiritually bankrupt. Do they all succeed at the challenge? Read the book to get that answer.
What Christian book have you read lately? What biblical truth did it teach you?

Trying my comment again. Your blog color reminds me of a clear blue sky on a sunny day!
Your blog has a very noble purpose. I just finished reading Nicole Seitz' Trouble the Water. Unconventional and not overtly Christian but there is a thread of God's love woven throughout.
I hope you like blogging.
Welcome to blogging! I really enjoyed the Will of Wisteria as well.
Shellie, your blog looks great! I love the background. Did you do that one yourself? Do yo uknow the ins and outs of computers? I recently read Julie Lessman's book A Passion Most Pure and it taught me that if we give our children a strong biblical foundation, more than likely they will accept it for themselves, and the ones that don't we need to love through it!
Blessings,
Mimi...another new blogger
I recently read A Passion Most Pure also. Are you a part of the ACFW book club group. I loved that book. I thought it was a Christian version of Gone With the Wind. luv2read-luv2read
Hey Shellie, I love your new digs!!
I actually just finished Michelle Sutton's "It's Not About Me," and the spiritual truth that it so aptly conveys is that it is NOT about what we want, it's about what God wants, and that our very peace and joy hinges on that.
And OMIGOSH, calling A Passion Most Pure a "Christian version of Gone With the Wind" is like one of the best compliments I have EVER gotten!! THANK YOU!!
And, Mimi, amen to that!!
Hugs,
Julie
Hey, Shellie, so glad to get to your blog. I love your pursuit of finding deep truth in Christian fiction. While I love an entertaining book, I, too, love to discover nuggets of truth in them.
I posed your quest on my blog here

I'm going to be working on a list of my own, so thanks so much letting me put it up on my blog, too.
I bookmarked your blog, too.
